What is
DRMS?
DRMS is Control
Metrics' patented laser triangulation system using high bandwidth beam
directors and a 3-D coordinate system created on the work piece or
structure. DRMS is not affected by temperature, humidity or
pressure. The laser configurations allow use in bright sun and space
environments. DRMS continually measures at high samples rates
without having to go to a reset point or recalibrate in the event laser
beams are interrupted. These features set DRMS apart from all other
3-D metrology systems. |
|
DRMS can measure the shape of large
antennas and positions of the phased array elements to control electronic
steering and enhance imaging. Inflatable and deformable structures
can be measured and controlled.

DRMS,
Dynamically Rigid Metrology, is adaptable to almost any environment.
Modular components can be tailored to specific system requirements for the
desire accuracy, sample rates, and motion slew rates. Permanent
installations or portable systems can be supplied. Open or closed
loop control.

DRMS can be used to measure objects in
3-D space, align components and structures, or be used to control
precision machine tools, robots, automatic welding and coating equipment
on large structures. Accuracy: to <5 mils in 100 feet or
better, depending on DR<S component configuration.
The 3 point coordinate reference system is created on the work piece or
structure, providing DRMS with a basis for dynamic rigidity,
tracking and compensating movements of the work piece due to vibration or
other effects. This is what allows DRMS to achieve the accuracy with
precision machine tools and processes over the entire work piece.
DRMS enables accurate 3-D assembly
alignment, measurement and control of manufacturing robots, precision
machine tools, used on large structures. It is ideal for ships and
oceangoing structures, aircraft, space structures and large antennas.
